The importance of toys in the development of children

The development of a child is a process influenced by many elements. From the teaching model chosen by the parents, through the chosen school, to the toys with which the little ones have fun. Everything has its echo, in the end, in the type of person who ends up becoming a minor and therefore must be taken into account before buying them.

As indicated from the Autonomous University of Puebla, in Mexico, the game It is the first and the main activity with which every child communicates with others and explores the reality that surrounds them. In addition, through these activities different roles are assumed that mean the implementation of different values and a form of learning that, in addition to educating, translates into fun.

Much more than fun

The Autonomous University of Puebla indicates that the game is much more than fun. Although these activities are identified with this result, their importance is much greater since these practices develop numerous aptitudes through the assumption of several roles that are also assumed through the use of toys.

In this way the toy is one of the first modes of relationship of the human being with several realities. For example, indicating that only a child can play with a ball translates to the fact that the world of sport is restricted to the female gender. These items are much more than a simple object and can become a source of values with important messages for the child.

On the other hand, the potential of toys for children to develop can not be ignored. skills. Returning to the example of the ball, thanks to it, the smallest of the house remain active, another element of this importance is a cardboard box that can make the child imagine that it is a racing car or a spaceship.

Any object can be used to make an infinite number of games that meet your needs at the development stage. The child does not need to have a large number of toys, but will have to choose items that allow them to develop skills such as their imagination or learning important values in their day to day.

To keep in mind when buying a toy

Given the importance of toys in the smallest, a series of tips must be taken into account to take advantage of their development potential. These are some tips that are offered from the Autonomous University of Puebla:

- The toy should attract the child's attention to play more than once with him. You do not have to buy to meet a momentary whim, so you will learn an important lesson about the value of money.

- The toy must enhance their abilities, not just stick to the fun of the child.

- The toy will be appropriate to the age and tastes. Never have to buy something for which the child is not prepared.

- The toy has to be safe. Never have to buy a toy that does not meet the security requirements of the European Union, it is best to look at its labeling.

- The toy should encourage collaboration and not isolate the child from their peers or from other people. Always better in a team than alone.
