Including fish in children's diet improves their sleep quality
The diet is very important for every individual, even in the smallest that are in development and that of those foods that they consume will depend their future in many aspects. Among the most recommended products to eat is the fish, which have many benefits for people who are added two more fruit of the research carried out by the University of Pennsylvania.
A study that shows how to consume fish At least once a week helps to better reconcile the dream and increases the quality of it. Something that has a positive impact on other aspects such as school performance and other activities carried out by children throughout their day.
Influence of Omega 3
The researchers turned to a sample of 541 children with ages between 9 and 11 years old. All of them had to answer a questionnaire in which they had to talk about the frequency with which they ate fish throughout the week. On the other hand, the parents of the children had to respond to another survey in which they talked about the quality of the children's sleep.
In the questionnaire presented to the parents also had to answer other questions such as the dream that children presented during the day and the fatigue recorded when doing activities. Those children who claimed to eat more fish showed fewer problems when falling asleep at night, showing better performance in different aspects.
In addition, the researchers also pointed out that children who had a higher consumption of fish were shown to have less antisocial behavior. Those responsible for the study highlighted that this is associated with the presence of Omega 3 in these foods, an element that has been shown to be very beneficial in this sense, as other works have shown.
Benefits of fish
This investigation adds a benefit more to the inclusion of fish in the diet of children. From the Association of Retailers of Fish and Frozen Products of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, others stand out:

- Fish is rich in minerals such as iodine, calcium, phosphorus and selenium.
- Seafood is generally low in calories and rich in proteins and minerals (calcium, iron, iodine, zinc, selenium, phosphorus and potassium).
- They are tasty foods, easy to chew and digest.
- They are easy to cook and allow a multitude of preparations.
- For its nutritional quality, the consumption of fish and shellfish, is considered an adequate alternative to the consumption of other foods that may have a high protein value, but worse quality of the fat.
