Address the needs of teachers to improve educational quality
What doubt is that education is a fundamental point in the life of every child? Hours, days, months, years are spent by the little ones within these centers where they not only learn Mathematics, Language and Literature, as well as many other subjects. They also internalize values such as responsibility or autonomy. Therefore, parents can not expect anything other than maximum quality in schools and institutes.
How can education be further improved within the classroom? The Chair of Educational Policies of the Camilo José Cela University has answered this question in its last report where it has valued the LOMCE. An analysis in which he highlighted the need to meet the needs of teachers so that students benefit from these changes.
Motivate the teaching staff
This report highlights the need to motivate the faculty by attending to their needs. The teachers are together with the parents, and in some cases the grandparents, the figure that most influences the education and development of the children. They should be required to exercise maximum professionalism, something that takes into account their demands to satisfy them.
This report reminds that those countries that have had success When it comes to attracting and retaining well-qualified teachers in the profession, they share the following common factors:
- The teachers are sufficiently paid.
- Education and the teaching profession are highly valued by society.
- The teaching career is structured with precision and transparency and the selection procedures to integrate into the profession are fair and reliable.
- Teachers benefit from multiple possibilities for improvement.
- Teachers receive regular feedback on their teaching and results, in particular through tutorials organized by the schools themselves.
What the student needs
This report has not only addressed how to improve teaching in response to the needs of teachers. What is needed is also taken into account student in order to achieve the objectives and improve their situation within the schools. On the one hand, those responsible for this work point out those students who may present greater difficulties, who must be attended as follows:
- Establish ambitious objectives for the whole system aimed at reducing this practice avoiding excessive use of it.
- Provide additional attention to students with difficulties and more effective time of learning, in the school environment or outside it, and define clear, audacious and realistic objectives for it.
- Develop personalized learning plans that allow students in difficulty to assimilate the content, progress at their own pace and reach the standards set for all students, even if it takes more time
On the other hand, some general guidelines for education:
- Adopt a law that gives each child the right to pre-school education.
- Create or finance a network of free early childhood education centers.
- Provide information and advice to families.
- Advise parents and inform them of the options available and the choice of center.
- Adequate means of transport must be made available.
- The financial burdens of families, particularly those located in disadvantaged areas, should be lightened.
