One in four Spaniards has received some cyber threat

New technologies are a tool that if used well, can be an instrument that makes life more simple to the people. However, browsing the network also means being exposed to different threats. Through the web world there are several people who take advantage of anonymity to intimidate other users without fear of possible consequences.

A revenge or simply the act of harming your interlocutor. Cyber ​​threats have grown in recent times as stated in the report prepared by the company dedicated to cybersecurity Kasperkly. These data show that during the second half of 2016, at least one in four Spaniards received some type of harassment through the Internet.


Sensation of security

Although the Kasperkly data reveal that 27% of Spaniards claim to have received some type of cyber threat, there is a sense of security. 61% of respondents say they do not believe they are a target for attacks carried out through the internet. On the other hand, 38% of the interviewees acknowledge not knowing what measures they can apply to avoid these situations.

The lack of tools to prevent these cyberman it makes users navigate against numerous risks in this web world. In this way it is usual for Spaniards to become habitual victims of malwares infections that endanger the integrity of the team. Another attack that has increased is the theft of accounts.


If in the previous Kasperkly data, 5% of the respondents admitted having seen how their accounts were hacked, now this percentage has grown to 6%. The filtering of personal data also increased, which went from 2% to 3% in the second half of 2016.

Secure Internet

As the Kasperkly data indicates, it is not strange that a person receives some type of cyber attack through the network. For this reason it is necessary to promote a safe use of the internet. Here are some tips to get it:

- Children and young people should be aware and bet on improving the Internet climate. Do not insult by taking advantage of anonymity and making social networks a place where cyberbullying has no place. Navigate from the respect and knowing the possible dangers of the network.


- Parents and educators should supervise the activity of their children and guide them in order to avoid the dangers that exist on the internet. Maintain a good dialogue and create an awareness in young people.

- Teach children basic internet notions such as the use of antivirus, secure pages, maintenance of privacy, to whom to go in case of finding problems in the network.

- The end of the internet. Young people should understand that the network is not a place to live virtually. The network is a place where you can communicate with other people at a distance or find information. Not a constant source of leisure that makes you forget reality.

- Responsible use. Very in relation to the previous point. Do not restrict the use of the Internet to the new generations, but limit it. You have to provide the little ones with knowledge with which they can get the most out of these tools and not just use them for fun.
