A job abroad is the desire of more than half of university students

Studying a career is only one step before beginning the real future. Go through the college It is taking the necessary skills before starting the desired job that every person dreams of performing for the rest of their life. But, while the vast majority of students are very clear about the job they like most, where would they want to work?

According to the study carried out by the Chemical Institute of Sarrià, IQS, most of the university students Spaniards would want to get a job abroad. Some data that show how young people see a bad future within our borders and how the market of other countries seems more attractive, especially in English-speaking countries.

United States, the most attractive

More than 500 university students from different careers participated in this study. All of them had to answer related questions about the country in which they would like to carry out their work once their careers ended. Only the 46,6% of the students expressed their intention to remain in Spain once they concluded this period. The remaining 53.4% looked with good eyes to try their luck in another country.

Of all the options available in the world map, The United States was the most repeated option among the respondents. 70.8% of university students would like a job on the other side of the Atlantic. Something that is not surprising since it is in this country where many of the most attractive companies for students are located: Apple, 8.9% and Google, 7.2%.

The second country that most attracts Spanish university students is the United Kingdom, which was chosen by 8.56% of the respondents. Germany it remains in third position since it was the country that decided 6.6% of the rest. What is most surprising is the presence of countries such as the United Arab Emirates.

Official, the ideal position

These data collide with the idea that university students have of the job ideal. Another study presented in the report Radiography of the Spanish University: Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation at the Spanish University revealed that 25% of the students of careers would prefer to be officials in our country.

The second option chosen in this study does relate to the work carried out by the IQS, since 22.6% of university students would want to obtain a position in a multinational after completing their career. Only 18.8% would value setting up their own business and 11% would see their future in an SME. Finally, only 3.4% of the interviewees consider themselves to be self-employed or freelances.
