Raising a child is never an easy task. The care that children require never ends, not even reaching adolescence. Sometimes these attentions must be greater due to alterations and other types of disorders such as autism, which make these situations more difficult.

In fact, a new study conducted by the College of Medicine, Pennsylvania State University has found that those teenagers with autism They are more likely to visit medical emergencies. These results warn parents of the greater care required in these cases and of the attention that people deserve in this situation.

They need attention

This conclusion was obtained after analyzing the health care data for nine years. This study focused on medical visits of people aged between 12 and 21 years. Over the years, it was observed that people without autism hardly increased the demand for these services by 3%, however people with these problems did.

Specifically, people with autism increased a 10%. In terms of total figures, it was observed that one third of people with autism in these areas attended regularly to medical emergencies. The reasons? The specialists explained that it is very possible that this period of transition from childhood to adult, already hard, becomes more uphill for those who have these problems.

For this reason, the researchers explain that the parents of children with autism they have to pay more attention to the needs of these cases. At the same time, health professionals are encouraged that when they detect the visit of one of these people, try to explain to their parents points that can help raise a child with these spatial needs and avoid increasing the visits to the emergency room.
