Philoparent violence, a problem that deserves our attention

The realities of the different homes of the world are a mystery. There are situations in which unfortunately the happiness that should prevail in the family does not exist. There are cases in which there are really serious problems, such as philo-parental violence, an issue that usually goes unnoticed but that deserves all our attention to fight against it.

This is what the Amigo Foundation, which has shed light on the cases of philo-parental violence in Spain. Numbers taken from the Memory of the State Attorney General's Office that shows how young people who mistreat their parents have grown, although unfortunately this is a problem that they prefer to hide and live in silence.

4,000 records per year

The data collected by the Amigo Foundation indicate that a year in Spain a total of 4,000 records for minors for philo-parental violence. However only between 10 and 15% of them end up in a complaint, the most serious cases. The rest is nothing, it is silenced and the problem is maintained without there being an action to solve.

The first thing you want to emphasize is that if you do not solution The problem will increase. In fact, it is explained that cases of parental violence have grown by 5.13% in recent years, which translates into the passage of 4659 complaints in 2013 to 4898 in 2015.

To analize the situation

From the Amigo Foundation it is recommended to analyze every situation before I go to more. For this purpose, we must be attentive to the attitudes of children, especially adolescents. It is at this age that these guys form their personality and face too many internal conflicts. A stage of uncertainty that can give rise to family conflicts that can become acute, ending up in one of these cases of philo-parental violence.

How to know if this attitude is becoming something that escapes the control of parents? It will be necessary to analyze the speech of the young man and do not let this go to more, check if this is becoming violent or is simply stating an opinion contrary to that of the parents. We must remember that the parents are the ones who have the authority and who must assert it.

If it is found that the adolescent is adopting a too violent character, it will be necessary to make him see that he is not in control at home. In case this attitude does not disappear and go further, it is essential to go to a psychologist to treat this case so professional. Start a family therapy to end this situation.
