The experts predict a bad future auditory to the new generations
Five are the senses that the human being enjoys, but many more are the problems that can cause deterioration of them and that cause difficulties at the time of seeing, hear, etc. Age is one of these factors, however it seems that in the new generations the loss of hearing level will get worse in the coming years.
In fact, the institute's experts Johns Hopkins Medicine, in Baltimore they assure that within a few decades the greater part of the adult population will suffer some type of auditory problem. It will also increase the number of people who will have partially or totally lost the sense of ear.
Changes in the next decade
The experts of this center explain that it will not take long to appreciate this auditory degeneration. By the year 2020 these specialists predict that 55% of the adult population will have some type of ear problem. But these data will get worse as the decades pass, since by 2060 this percentage will increase to 67%, and in many cases they will require surgical interventions.
This will mean an increase in health spending as more and more people will request an operation to improve their hearing level or require a treatment such as a device that makes them listen better. The solution? Start to take care of this today sense and avoid exposure to loud sounds that affect the ear.
The specialists of this center explain that the amount of noise to which young people today are exposed have no point of comparison with those of past generations. Headphones, speakers in nightclubs and an increase in the number of cars has caused the ear suffer like never.
How to preserve the ear
Faced with the threat of losing this sense that exists for the new generations, it is very important to take care of the ears of the little ones. These are some tips to make it:
- Reduce the number of noisy devices that work at the same time.
- Lower the volume of electrical devices that produce sound.
- Do not abuse the use of music players for more than one hour a day and with a volume below 60% of the maximum possible.
- Use quieter products. Compare the acoustic power: the smaller the better.
- Do not expose yourself to loud noises or the use of headphones at full volume.
- Take special care with the ears when colds, flu or infections occur, which can eventually cause hearing loss.
- Dry your ears after each bath, to avoid moisture in the ear canal and in turn, the possible infection by fungi.
- When practicing swimming, use custom caps to protect yourself from moisture in the external auditory canal.
