Children's rooms: a space to dream

The children's rooms should be considered as the space more alive and sure of the whole house. Establishing a profile, the room of the baby and the children should be a place where simplicity prevails, the amplitude, away from the kitchen and the bathroom, well lit and with an adequate temperature and humidity at all times.

Although for adults, the bedroom is only the place to rest, for a baby, first and for a child later, it means much more. Your room can become a real world of possibilities and experiences, which you will soon want to explore and which will determine its development during the first months of its existence. For this reason, it is essential that in your room you find stimuli, fun, comfort ... and-above all-security.

Essential purchases to decorate children's rooms

However, any new dad, at the great news of the arrival of a baby, can be carried away by a thousand purchases of apparently indispensable furniture that, in the long run, end up not being so much.

Changing table, little bathroom, moses, lace ... any of these ingenious, functional and aesthetic inventions can be very helpful, but they will not be the fundamental thing. The baby will soon have to crawl, it will not fit in the little bath, it will dirty everything in its path ...

In principle we might need:

- Large crib of approximately 1.20x0.60 meters. It is preferable that the interior height of the crib, in the lowest slatted position, is not less than 60 cm. And located in the highest position at 30 cm. so that the child does not climb out of it.
For the first 4 or 6 months it is advisable to use a bassinet, where the baby will be more wrapped.

- Comfortable. It will depend on our preferences, but we must bear in mind that if it does not measure more than one meter in height, it is stable and with a large surface, we can change the baby there.

- Closet. The drawers must have stops so that they do not come out completely.

- Shelving fixed to the wall or shelves, where "protect" the things that the little one should not reach.

The experience of many mothers advises to avoid disbursements that later turn into hindrances. It would be better to stop and think before letting ourselves be carried away by the impulse to buy.

Decorate the children's room taking advantage of spaces

Before throwing the house out the window looking for trends to decorate your baby's room, it is essential to have a practical sense. Any table or bed can serve as a changer, if we extend over it a small plastic comforter, for example. And neither, except for those who can not bend over, the folding bathtub is a must.

When the baby is very small, will serve the sink, and then we can resort to the bathtub, using a ring with suction cups that prevent the child to completely immerse.

The accessories filled with lace for specific and specific uses can also end up being a nuisance.

In the children's room, comfort first of all

To decorate the room, we must not lose sight of the fact that, above all, it is his room, and he must be comfortable in it. It is more important, therefore, that the furniture are attached to the wall, and that has enough space to wallow and crawl, to have an infinite number of toys or stuffed animals life size.

Maybe we can spend a little time walking around on their hands and knees, exploring all the dangers we need to neutralize. As soon as he is in a position to do so, it will be good for the child to have freedom of movement within his room and to be able to go when he is in his room.

The child must feel really comfortable in his room, and this must meet conditions to arouse their interest and curiosity, depending on the time you are in your development, things that interest you and teach you.

Without falling into the kitsch or excessive refinement, it is important that in your room also the harmony prevails, soft and warm colors, that combine, nice figures that arouse your curiosity when you can notice them ...

Tips for organizing a children's room

1. Always choose fire-resistant curtains, short and without ties or laces. As soon as it grows a little, our son could pull them if he were to reach them.

2. Prevent the temperature of the child's room is not excessive and prevents it from becoming a sauna. The ideal is to keep between 20º and 24º of day and between 16 and 20 at night.

3. Do not put too many toys at your fingertips, so as not to make you dizzy. If you have many, we will rotate them every 2 or 3 weeks. The rest will be removed from your sight.

4. Make sure the room has a window that propagates natural light and a cozy and safe artificial lighting.

5. Decorate the walls preferably with warm tones and smooth (salmon, pink, light yellow ...). In case of using paint, it should not be toxic.

6. Do not abuse the decorative elements that can accumulate too much dust (stuffed animals, lace, hair rugs ...). Remember that babies are extremely sensitive to this type of agents.

7. Whenever you can put music in the child's room. This will allow us to cheer up, stimulate and relax the child at every moment of the day.

8. For floors choose safe materials, Not slippery, warm, resistant and easy to clean. If we put a carpet remember to fix it with adhesive tape so that the little one does not slip dangerously around the room.
