The 4 keys of Mindset: the mentality of the possible

Mindset is "the mentality of the possible, the mentality of believing that it can be improved". This is how the renowned Stanford psychologist, Carol Dweck, defines the human capacity to embrace defects, persevere and believe that a personality change is possible.

His scientific research indicates that a fixed mentality will cost him to grow, while an intelligence of growth, that which is willing to learn, you are more likely to achieve degrees of success in the life.

"In a fixed mindset, people believe that their basic qualities, such as intelligence or talent, are simply already fixed in their personal traits, they spend the time of their lives documenting their intelligence, rather than developing it. They have talent, they may believe that they survive without effort, but they are wrong, "says Dweck.

Neuroscience and the Mindset

Numerous studies in neuroscience have discovered that when we learn new things and we face difficulties and challenges they develop and connect in our brain new neural networks that give us new capabilities depending on the area they are developing.

This means that we do not only have the capacities with which we are born, but we can continue to develop our brain constantly and generate new results and ways of feeling, thinking and enjoying life, without this having the limits that we supposed.

A) Yes, it was discovered that many children when they were considered stupid or incapable, they did not even try and each time they had more school failures and their brain was stimulated less by developing less brain activity and fewer connections, while children were encouraged to believe that it is possible and instead of "You can not" they were told "Not yet" or "Not yet" were given the possibility to believe that "they were in a process" and that they were heading to that successful future they wanted to get, they tried harder, they had more capacity to generate new strategies, their brain activity increased and with it new neural networks and improved their intelligence, abilities and results.

Obviously this does not happen only in children because life is a constant learning and we constantly face challenges, it will depend on our Minset or mentality how we face them and the results we obtain from them.

4 keys of the Mindset: believe in making it possible

If you want to be a successful and happy person it is necessary that you put into practice these 4 keys of the Minset.

1. Be aware of the voice of your fixed mentality
When approaching a challenge, said voice judges and can say: "Are you sure you can do it? Maybe you do not have the necessary talent". Or: "What happens if you can not? It will be a failure." People will laugh because you thought you had talent. The Mindset listens to that internal voice and chooses to overcome the limit of the judgment and look for the possible.

2. There are always options
How are challenges, setbacks and criticism interpreted? One option is to interpret them with a fixed mentality: there are no talents or skills to achieve them. Or, you can interpret the reality from the growth: what you need, what strategy, efforts and breadth of capabilities should be developed to make the jump.

3 . Speak with the voice of the possible
A fixed mentality, when approaching a challenge, immediately says: "Are you sure you can do it?". A growth mindset would say: "I can learn with time and effort". The stare can say: "If I do not try, at least I maintain my dignity and I do not make mistakes". The open look would say: "If I do not try, I will not automatically achieve it.

4. Opt for the possible
The excessive concern of a person locked in a fixed mentality, prevents him from making bold visionary movements. This type of personality interprets reality on the defensive. Instead, the habit of believing in the possible, creates a growth mindset and gives an opportunity to achievement.
