Millennials are the generation that has the least problem to help economically

There is a tendency to mistakenly think that new generations They are less charitable than the previous ones. There is a false myth that the members of this sector of society live in their world and do not attend to the rest and much less give them a hand to help them. However, this is not like that anywhere near and that is what the study of MetLife which reflects that millennials, a generation born at the end of the last millennium, are the most predisposed when it comes to helping their families financially.

This demonstrates that the younger generations goodness and charity are very integrated within their values, especially within the family. Moreover, according to this MetLife study to show the attitude of various age groups when it comes to helping, are the people born around the 60s who have the greatest problems at the time of give a helping hand to his relatives, especially in the economic field.

Millennials outnumber baby boomers

MetLife makes it clear: millenials they are the generation that has the least problem when it comes to providing financial assistance to their families if they request it. 85% of the participants of these ages have a greater predisposition when it comes to throwing a cable to their relatives. A figure that exceeds that of past generations such as baby boomers, that is, those born in the increase of births produced after WWII.

While in the case of millennials 85% is willing to help their families financially, in the case of the baby boomer it is the 77%. Number that although it is quite high, it indicates a difference between both generations at the time of throwing a cable to their relatives. Data that also break with this myth that young people go to their own and that they do not have charity in their list of values.

This can be explained because perhaps it has been the generation of millenials those who have received more financial aid from their parents from the start, something that the baby boomers did not achieve. That is why those born at the end of S. XX They have a very ingrained need to provide financial help to those who request it in their family.

The role of grandparents

However, this does not mean that only past generations do not lean on the shoulder when required. In fact, another MetLife survey also shows how grandparents are a key part of the good functioning of the family. In fact, 62% of these people in Spain claim to help their families financially despite the fact that their pensions are scarce enough to allow this expense.

Even a 34% affirms that this financial assistance will end impact them negatively, although in any case the grandparents maintain that it is not a problem for them to lend money to their relatives. It is therefore not surprising that the grandchildren who are part of the millennials have learned the importance of this value instilled by the older people within their family.
