7 labels to educate as a family in a digital environment
We live in a multi-screen society that absorbs us, but at the same time it is exciting and full of challenges that require a certain reflexive attitude on the part of parents. We are the first generation of parents who have to face the difficult challenge of educating in the proper use of new technologies without having had previous experience in this field.
To help many of these parents with digital native children who are novices in the world of new technologies, we have developed these 7 labels to educate as a family in a digital environment.
7 labels to live with the family with new technologies
These are some recommendations or guidelines on how to live as a family in this digital environment that we have lived.
Label nº 1 Are our children different? Yes, we educate a multi-screen generation.
The technology advances very fast, the applications and devices that we use now will not resemble those used by our children when they join the university or the labor market. That is why what lasts are the clear rules and that we have helped them and accompanied them to discover new technologies.
Our children are part of a Generation equipped, self-taught, mobilized, that has fun in digital, interactive, social.and there is no more to observe to reach these conclusions. What do you do to know this generation better?
Label nº 2. Technology is an opportunity, not an enemy, that does not catch you in off mode.
Nothing is further from looking at technology with fear.
Think positive, in the advantages that as a mother / father and professional give you new technologies every day and get the most out of it. But get the batteries! Do not get caught in off mode!
Label nº 3. Learn, navigate, form, entangle ... be digital mother mola.
As parents, this connected society demands a change in the educational task.
Learn to navigate, browsing
Get started, read, listen to your children, attend professional workshops, courses
It entangles, studies, watches.
As parents we have to be a valid interlocutor for our children, also on technology issues.
Label nº 4 Four clear coordinates: time, place, company, content.
Try to take into account these four coordinates that one day listen to a good pedagogue:
- Device exposure time
- Place where that device is used
- Company
- Content
This can help to assess at a given moment about the correct use or not of the screens in our families.
