All the maternity grants 2016
If you have just become a mother or are going to have a baby this year, you are interested in knowing all the maternity grants that you can request through the Security and the Tax AgencyIn addition to the cuts of recent years, especially in the regional section, all aid has been "retouched", so it is advisable to learn well to collect all the documentation and submit it as soon as possible.
Social Security maternity benefits
Social Security grants maternity benefits that can begin to be charged from the first day of the next quarter to which it has been requested. These maternity aid they are for limited income, multiple birth, large families or autonomous mothers.
Until 2012 the help of this agency was about 500 euros a year and until the child turned 5 years, since 2013 this figure has been stipulated at 291 euros per year.
1. Limited income. When the family's annual income is less than 11,376.66 euros, it can be requested that the aid of 291 euros per year be extended until the child reaches 18 years of age. This amount is increased by 15% for each child or foster child, from the second, including this one. No income limit is required for the recognition of the status of beneficiary of the allowance for a child or a foster child for a disabled position.
2. Multiple births. The amount of aid varies depending on the number of children born in multiple births. In the case of twins or twins, that is, two children, the amount of 2,565.60 euros, in the case of three children the amount is 5,131.20 euros and if you have had four or more children the help will be of 7,696.80 euros.
3. Large families, single-parent families or in the case of mothers who have a 65% disability. You can apply for a one-off payment of 1,000 euros for having a child, as long as certain income margins are not exceeded.
For large families: 450.73 euros are paid for the third and subsequent children. If the child has a disability of 33% or greater, this amount is doubled. The income of the parents can not exceed 17,122.59, €, with an increase of € 2,575.95 from the fourth.
In the case of coexistence of parents or adopters, if the sum of income of both exceeded the indicated limit, the condition of beneficiary to any of them is not recognized. The same rule will be applied in the cases in which the foster care, permanent or pre-adoptive, has been constituted by two people who form the same family unit.
However, beneficiaries can also be those who receive annual income, by any nature, that exceeding the amounts indicated in the preceding paragraphs, are less than the amount resulting from adding to this figure the product of multiplying the annual amount of the child allowance or less welcomed by the number of children or minors received by the beneficiaries.
Who can apply for maternity assistance in Social Security?
The Social Security, grants this aid to parents, adopters or children under 18 years of age, provided that:
- Legally reside in Spanish territory. This condition is considered fulfilled in the case of workers transferred by their company outside the Spanish territory, who are in a situation similar to that of registration and listed in the corresponding Spanish Social Security scheme.
- Do not leave Spanish territory for periods longer than 90 days throughout each calendar year, except when the absence is motivated by duly justified causes of illness.
- Have children or minors under their care, minors under 18 years of age or older affected by a disability in a degree equal to or greater than 65% and residents in Spanish territory. This requirement is considered fulfilled with respect to the foster children or children who accompany the workers transferred by their company outside the national territory on their journeys.
- They are not entitled to benefits of this nature in any other public social protection regime.
- If the rest permit is enjoyed by both parents, they can be the two beneficiaries of the benefit if they prove the necessary requirements each one of them.
Age to qualify for maternity assistance from the Social Security
Depending on the worker's age, the minimum contribution period necessary to be eligible for the maternity benefit will be different and varies gradually:
1. For those under 21 years of age no minimum period is required
2. From 21 years and under 26, 90 days are required in the 7 years prior to the start of the break and 180 days during the worker's entire working life
3. For over 26 years, two options are contemplated:
- 180 days quoted in the 7 years prior to the start of the break
- 360 days quoted throughout his working life
Non-contributory maternity
In those cases of childbirth in which the mother does not meet the minimum contribution requirements, she may take advantage of the so-called non-contributory motherhood, known as the non-contributory maternity allowance.
In this case, the amount to be received will correspond to 100% of the IPREM Multiple Effects Income Public Indicator, which for the year 2016 stands at 17.75 euros per day (532.51 euros per month) in general.
Maternity aid from the Tax Agency
Working mothers who have children up to 3 years old can charge a monthly payment of € 100 or, on the contrary, deduct € 1,200 from the IRPF. The only condition for requesting this assistance is having paid at least 15 days in the month in which the benefit is requested.
Families with newborn children can deduct from the income tax base 1,836 € for the first child, 2,040 € for the second, 3,672 € for the third and 4,182 € for the fourth and following.
Maternity aid for autonomous mothers
Autonomous mothers who have contributed at least 180 days in the last seven years, can benefit from a maternity leave of 16 weeks, during which they charge 100% of the quoted base (€ 833.40 per month if you quote the minimum and € 3,166.20 if you quote the maximum).
The 100% bonus of monthly payments during the 12 months following maternity leave has been removed.
