The trip of a lifetime, the emotional campaign of UNICEF

UNICEF Just launched a new campaign with which you want to draw the attention of families about the situation that refugees are living. The video is a paradox, which turns the joy of having won a trip, a bitter pilgrimage of disappointments to know that they will have to walk for miles, although some sections can be done in crowded trains, doming in tents improvised or carry your luggage throughout the journey.

A very special prize for families

Travel is always a source of joy, knowing new places, enjoying hitherto unknown cultures and being able to carry out activities that will create a multitude of memories. You can not imagine the joy that can be created in someone who receives the news that he is the winner of a fantastic trip and in which the whole family can participate.

This is the start of this UNICEF video that shows several people who, upon entering a store, are warmly welcomed to announce that they have been the winners of a trip. The happiness of these people increases when they are announced their destinations: Istanbul, Vienna and Greece. "Great" answers one of the winners of this particular prize when asked what they think of these places that will go with expenses paid and in the company of their own.

Then the presenter of these awards asks the winners several questions "Do you have children?" "Do you usually travel as a family?" , and also insists on the fact that the winners are going to travel with the rest of the members of their home. That is when you are invited to know the experience of other people who have already made this trip that has touched them.

A trip full of 'adventures'

The presenter then begins to show him the images of the other families "awarded with this trip", in addition they are also told that it will be a trip full of "adventures". The face of the winners changes when they realize that in reality the trip they were going to make is the route that refugees who flee the war have to make daily.

"The same part of the trip you have to do on foot, eh ?, to try to cross the border from one country to another," says the presenter who continues to explain this trip. The winners do not know what to respond to this fact, in addition they are added another data on this "prize" and that surely will have problems when crossing a border, a fact that makes the winners even more serious.

But according to the presenter there is no need to worry because these moments can be used to camp and campfires, in his opinion a good opportunity for children to meet others of their own age and make friends. In addition, it is also explained to the winners that this trip will not be so bad since not everything will be on foot and there will be stretches by train. Then they are shown images of refugees traveling in trains full of people.

Again the presenter insists that this can be a good opportunity for the little ones to make friends thanks to the number of children who make the "trip of a lifetime". In addition, the prizewinners are also told that they will be able to discover new cultures and ways of life even though there are too many people who could make the trip uncomfortable.

An unforgettable trip 'for the whole family

The presenter at this point of the video insists that it will be a trip for the whole family and that although it is complicated by the presence of the children, with a smile and patience all problems will be fixed. In his opinion, it will be an unforgettable moment for the whole family, something that some winners agree with while showing some surprised faces for all the information they have received about this particular prize.

It is at this time when the presenter of these awards gives an incredible data at the same time sad: from 2015 to date about 300,000 children have already made this trip that many times they do alone. At this moment the winners are speechless before this fact and some children who accompany their parents indicate their intention not to want to go to this trip since what they have seen did not like anything.

Awareness by refugees

Videos like these remind us that there are many families similar to ours that have been involved in a conflict in which they have nothing to do. People who flee their countries in search of a better future for their own and who can not find where they lived until now and from where they are forced to emigrate because of the war.

And is that according to UNHCR, until December 2014 there were 59.5 million people in the world who have had to move, of which 19.5 million are refugees since they crossed some border. Some surprising figures that show us the true dimensions of this problem that society is currently experiencing.
