68% are better drivers when traveling with children

Thus we are more aware of the danger and the lives we carry with us, as corroborated by a study prepared by the company Direct Insurance.

Among its main conclusions, it stands out that68 percent of Spaniards admit to being a better driver when they travel with their children in the car. This study prepared by Direct Seguros has been carried out based on a survey of 250 people on their driving habits on the road when traveling with children.


The most cautious at the wheel by sex

Parents, in general, have turned out to be more responsible drivers when traveling with children. So, for example, although in general the 52 percent of the respondents ensures that cDrive more slowly when traveling with children in the car, men are the ones who most mock their customs. In fact, the 58 percent of men say that it becomes more prudent to drive when traveling by car with their children, while only 38 percent of women admit to being more cautious than usual when traveling with children.


By sex, when asked if carrying children in the car is safer, parents consider in a 34 percent of the cases that driving with their children is safer because they increase caution while for mothers the percentage drops to 22 percent.

Do not obsess, 40 percent recognizes that traveling with children is safer than doing it with adults but one in three points out that it can also be more dangerous due to the stress and misleading that children can generate.

At-the-wheel attitudes when traveling with children

Most drivers say they change their habits when their children drive their cars. The 54 percent of the respondents claim that they reduce the overtaking maneuvers, the 56 percent of the participants recognizes that pay more attention to the road when traveling with your children and the 54 percent say you do not skip traffic lights in amber or red.


Another habit that can lead to mishaps that cause traffic accidents is the use of electronic devices and gadgets in the car. However, responsible parents recognize that this is one of the things they most modify when they go with their children in the car. Thus, the 52 percent notes that he uses less mobile devices, GPS or radio.

Family vehicles, the choice of parents

63 percent of respondents say they have changed or changed their car after having a child. In fact, 27 percent opt ​​for a larger model and 21 percent for vehicles that incorporate specific features for families, such as the ISOFIX system. Therefore, in addition to the way of driving, the type of vehicle is also very important when it comes to having a more responsible and comfortable driving when we travel or travel in the car with the children.
