Focus your eyes in front of the computer screen, tablet or smartphone for long periods of time, use the mouse or mouse without supporting the forearm or submitting the back to the tyranny of the keyboard are just some continuous acts that can cause usTechnological diseases: the ailments of ICT.

Not only are we incredibly loaded everywhere, but we usually look at the screen of our smartphones and tablets, and at the same time, because of our work, we are waiting for these devices for many hours. This gives rise to many pains to which a priori we find no explanation.

These ailments are known as technological diseases and affect people of all ages from children to adults. Among children, the most widespread technological disease is technological flea finger diseaser. Do you want to know what other technological diseases exist and what is the technological illness of the thumb? Do you think you have one of these problems and want to remedy it?

What are technological diseases?

The technological diseases they are syndromes or physical disorders that have their origin in inadequate postures and movements unconsciously performed wrongly. So when, for example, we spend many hours in the office in front of the computer, it is recommended to spend a few seconds reflecting on our position and breathing deeply. We must get up from our chair frequently to oxygenate our bones and muscles. And so must children when they spend many hours hooked on the technology against video games (which, of course, is not beneficial at all).

The main causes of technological diseases

1. The monitor. It causes problems by focusing the view in front of the PC screen for a long period of time. Causes eye irritation, dry eye syndrome due to lack of blinking and causes eye fatigue. All this can trigger severe headaches. Ocular fatigue is also a consequence of the contrast between poor office lighting and the brightness of the monitor.

2. The mouse.A bad position when using the mouse or mouse can cause injuries to the wrist known as the "carpal tunnel syndrome". It is produced by a repeated effort in the handling of the mouse.

3. The keyboard. It can be a real torture for the back, when the user is not sitting right in front of the computer.

Problems due to abuse of poor posture using ICT

The problems that arise from poor posture caused by the abuse of technologies are:

- Degeneration of the spine
- Inflammation of the tendons
- Nervous entrapment

Technological diseases, neck pain and cervical pain

These pains, which are what causes for example the fact of constantly monitoring the mobile phone, are the most common among patients who come to the consultations of physiotherapists and chiropractors.

When both children and adults are in front of the computer we bend our back a lot. It is therefore important to have a comfortable ergonomic chair that fits the needs of our body. Normally, we do not worry about keeping the neck in its natural position, that is, in line with our spine. Although we are not at all times well seated if it is convenient that when we realize that we are maintaining an inadequate position we corrected it immediately. The shoulders are also important, because we tend to shrink them when they should always be away from our ears. The scapulae must also always be connected.

The technological illness of the thumb: tips

Our fingers are constantly in motion. We spent hours in front of WhatsApp, which can cause an injury known as Whatsappitis, and consulting our profiles on social networks. That's why our tendons suffer a lot. We can hurt the wrists and an area of the hand that is known as the thenar eminence. It is that chubby part between the thumb and the wrist. To prevent these pains from going away, we can:

- Take breaks and use the technologies when necessary
- Stretching when getting up and before going to sleep
- Keep your back straight on the chair
- Use wrist rests or computer mouse pads

To combat the technological illness of the thumb, it is important to pay attention to the area between the bones of the thumb and the index finger. It is about four centimeters from the membrane that joins them, to the inside of the palm of the hand. If you flex the thumb of the opposite hand you can press this point. You will find it because it is very sensitive to that pressure.

When you spend a lot of time in front of the computer, press every time six times the valley of the harmony of each hand.So not only do you manage to relax the palm of your hand but also reduce the possibility of suffering headaches, those caused by exerting mandibular pressure and possible gut pains due to constipation or heavy digestion. All solutions are in the palm of our hand! After all, hands and feet are the places in our body where we have the most nerve endings.
