Eight plans for the Constitution Bridge

The Dec. 6Spain commemorates the approval of its Constitution, something that was achieved that day of the year 1978. An important date and that we celebrate with a 'bridge', that is, a holiday. Although it will not be a party in all the communities of Spain, Yes it will be a good weekend to make a break.

If any moment is great to take a trip (even in the same city) with family and children, when it is a bridge and a holiday the motives multiply, Why not take advantage and discover a new corner both close to home and something further away?

Another option may be the activities designed specifically for this date. With them we began this selection of eight plans to make this bridge of the Constitution and the Virgin of the Immaculate as a family. Choose the one you like the most!

8 ideas to celebrate the bridge of the Constitution in family

Go to the Congress of Deputies

What better place to teach children the importance of the Constitution than going to the camera of the representatives of the people? The Congress of Deputies will hold its nineteenth Open Doors Conference on December 3 and 4, organized since 1997 as part of the commemoration of the Constitution Day and allow citizens to make a tour of the most representative of the Palace.

The Congress of Deputies will open its doors on December 3, at 9.30 am, to the first citizens who want to get closer to know the artistic and historical heritage of the parliamentary headquarters.

Go to the Senate

The Senate is the other chamber of representatives that, on the occasion of this date, organizes open doors for all citizens in the Days of the next 3 and 4 December. A great plan to learn more about our country!

Segovia

Knowing our history is a good way to 'honor' our Constitution. Therefore, we suggest a visit to Segovia and, especially, its Alcázar, where so many historical moments have taken place. Stroll through its wonderful fortress and learn about the many kings who have had it as a home and Court, especially the Catholic Monarchs.

Cádiz

Following with a review of the places of importance in our history, Cadiz can not miss: where the first Spanish Constitution was born, that of 1812, also known as 'La Pepa' because it was approved one day in San José, on March 19. Any excuse is good to visit this beautiful city and learn from its history.

Urueña (Valladolid)

Another option can be to visit this small and beautiful town near Valladolid: Urueña. The town is famous for hosting a good number of museums (five) and bookstores (ten), something striking in a place with just a few hundred inhabitants. Urueña was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1975; its walls, from the 13th century, are the best preserved in the whole province. It also has an amazing castle, built in the 11th century.

Mota del Cuervo (Cuenca)

Known as the 'Balcón de la Mancha', this beautiful town is a great place to visit the famous windmills of Don Quixote de la Mancha, a masterpiece by Miguel de Cervantes. Will you confuse them with giants?

Altamira (Cantabria)

How about a ride further back in history? We suggest you visit Cantabria and, within this community, the town of Altamira, where its famous museum is located. Closes every Monday except, precisely, on December 7. Perfect! Knowing Altamira, the masterpiece of the first art of humanity, is the most attractive offer of this interesting museum that will take you to Prehistory.

Valencia

We are going now to the Lebante to know more about the history of Spain. Valencia was founded in the Roman age and, since then, its importance (especially in commerce) has been very important. Walking through its streets is to know a little more about who we are, as well as enjoying a good time and a very nice place!
