Teachers reward the protagonists of education 2015
The Magisterium newspaper has delivered this Thursday, November 12 in Madrid VII Teacher's Prizes, awards that recognize the work of all those who, with their work, favor the improvement and advancement of education in Spain.
The act has been presented by the journalist Javier Ruiz Taboada, who has served as master of ceremonies. Taboada gave a welcome speech in which he pointed out the importance of role of parents in the education of children and the need for do without ideologies to face the challenges of education in our country.
During the event, the general director of the Siena Group, to which Magisterio belongs, José María de Moya, has emphasized that these awards, "plural and independent", have the purpose that "civil society recognizes ten initiatives varied, plural, made in favor of education."
The director of the National Center for the Teaching of Thought in the United States was also present at the event. Robert Swartz, who has expressed the importance of the development of an education that makes one think and has described what is the teacher perfect: "he who transmits his knowledge to the students by way of doing and not only by listening".
Eight awards and two special mentions
This year the winners were Ashoka Spain, the FP Dual Alliance, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of Cantabria, the International Forum of Spanish (FIE 2.0.); the Scientia Foundation; and the president of the Forum of African Women Specialists in Pedagogy, Aïcha Bah Diallo, Abel Martínez, professor murdered in April at an institute in Barcelona; and the television program The adventure of knowledge. In addition, there have been two special mentions that have fallen on the Padre Piquer Educational Center in Madrid and the teacher Cristina Rueda.
The event was attended by the Minister of Education of the Community of Madrid, Rafael Van Grieken, who stressed the need for this type of recognition to the teaching work, "to many people who, with a lot of vocation, sacrifice, desire, dedication and passion are dedicated to this profession".
Finally, the Secretary of State for Education, Marcial Marín, has been in charge of closing the ceremony, and has assured that from the Ministry they have captured the message that the protagonists of the awards have transmitted.
