Almost 250,000 people ask for incentives to the continuous day with flexible hours

Caring for children is not a simple task and, as such, requires time. However, mothers and fathers barely have a few hours a day to raise and enjoy their little ones. That is why almost 250,000 people have joined the petition of signatures of the Club de las Malas Madres so that the government encourages companies to put the workday with flexible hours.

The objective: "a true work-life balance". This is indicated by the Club de las Malas Madres, which has launched this petition for signatures and in three weeks has almost reached the 300,000 support it needed. "Now is the time," these mothers say, "to ask all the parties and, in particular, the government to commit to fiscally incentivize small and medium-sized companies to establish continuous days for all employees."

Little time for children

What has led these mothers to launch the campaign are the results of the survey # concilia13F conducted to more than 4,500 women by which it was concluded that the "free time" that a working woman has on average a day is only 54 minutes up to date. "Does such a society have a future?" They ask, while warning that this data "exposes the approach of the conciliation measures that currently exist."

For the Club de las Malasmadres, if nothing is done to change this situation, society will end up having "health problems derived from poor time management", in addition to becoming a society "where the woman is penalized for being mother "and where, therefore, there will be" gender inequalities since it is women who assume the greatest total workload ".

"And, above all, a society in which women have to give up their professional development, take care of their children or even give up being mothers," they warn to say they will not do it: "I do not quit," they say , and invite all women to join their request.

Flexibility for work-life balance

These mothers remember that there are "thousands" of professional women who demand the rationalization of schedules to "guarantee a better quality of life and a more equitable distribution of time between men and women". "Being aware of the complexity of business, we propose concrete measures to promote a new culture of time in companies and, consequently, in society: We ask that tax incentives be given to those SMEs that implement the workday with flexible hours."

Change the things

The promoters of this collection of signatures assure that this concrete measure will have positive effects on society, since it will be achieved "retain female talent in companies", "greater equity in the time available for the care of children and domestic-family responsibilities , "greater satisfaction with the distribution of time", "greater availability of free time", "greater productivity in jobs and in organizations in general" and "less absenteeism, illnesses and accidents at work".

In summary, they try to ensure that women do not have to "give up" something, that they can be mothers but also workers, and that they can do so thanks to a true work-life balance.

Their arguments have convinced in almost three weeks to almost 250,000 people, who have joined their petition signing on Change.org. "Thank you for being there and supporting this cause, thank you for not giving up and fighting every day," they have thanked these "bad mothers" after achieving the first 200,000 signatures.
