Baby baths: tips for buying

How many things! The arrival of the baby implies many times buying a lot of objects essentials that, in turn, require an important investment. Among these objects that we need at home so that our baby is in the best possible conditions, highlights the bathtub. Where else do we bathe the baby?

The bathroom is an essential moment in the care of the baby. Not only for hygiene (which, of course, also) but because in the bathroom time we connect in a very special way with our little one. It is a ritual in which the newborn enjoys and also the parents * although not always. LThe purchase of a suitable bathtub can be decisive when it comes to enjoying, or not, the bathroom.

Keys to choose the bathtub

When you go to look for a bathtub you will find that there are a thousand types and ways: high, low, some materials or other ... As in everything, you can choose based on the tastes, but there are issues in which it is better to prioritize security. These are the keys that you should keep in mind.

-Material. Make it polypropylene, because it is more resistant and does not deform over time.

-Structure. You will see that there are many types of bathtubs, and the choice will depend in many occasions on the space available to you. Only one thing in this aspect: the structure must be stable, that does not tremble.

-Shape. The shape of the baby's bathtub should be designed so that the baby does not slip inside. Thus, the best thing is that it is anatomical. If for some reason it is not possible, one option is to buy a bath hammock as a complement: they are comfortable and prevent the baby from slipping, thus facilitating bathing (especially on days when only one person can bathe the baby).

-Filled and emptied. Another issue to consider is how the bathtub is filled and emptied: look for it to be comfortable, especially emptying, for which an airtight drain plug is advised in the bottom.

Models of baby baths

In the market there are different models of bathtubs. Knowing them all will help you choose the one that best suits your needs, tastes and, above all, the space of your bathroom. Here you have them.

-Traditional bath They are small bathtubs that can rest on any flat horizontal surface (and, stable, of course, since they do not have legs). They are light, small and very economical. Just remember that they must have a non-slip bottom, as we discussed earlier.

-Bathtub on bathtub. They are the type of bathtubs that are designed to be placed on adult bathtubs, which saves space and makes it easy to fill and empty the bathtub. Usually come with a kind of adjustable "chassis" or an easel to fit the tub of parents.

-Travel bathtub. For when we go on a trip and we do not know if there will be baby objects in the hotel or apartment, we can get inflatable or collapsible bathtubs, specially designed for these moments. Of these, the folding ones are the most comfortable, because you only have to open them and place them in the bathtub of the adults, which makes them very simple and comfortable.

-Metallic structure. They are bathtubs whose 'goblet' is made of plastic and have a support of wood or steel (sometimes also folding). They are quite beautiful and many come with 'vintage' air designs, very fashionable lately. However, they take up a lot of space.

-Change-tub. When we talk about the types of changers we already mentioned the one that comes with a bathtub. It is a two in one, so you save on objects, but at the same time it is usually quite large and of a somewhat higher price. Also in the market you can find bath-changers folding or even prepared to be mounted on a metal chassis and placed on the bathtub.
