The family, the best company in the holidays for the Spanish

At the time of choosing with whom to share the summer holidays, most Spaniards opt for the family as the first option to live in the summer season. This has been assured by 44 percent of Spaniards, compared to 29.7 percent who enjoy their partner and 4.6 percent who prefer to be alone.

The Advance of Results of the Barometer of June of the Center of Sociological Investigations (CIS) not only shows these interesting data on the customs of the Spaniards at the time of going on vacation, but it brings other answers that tell us how we are and what we prefer during free time.

Some activities among which stands out The important family company for holidays: Although we see each other at home every day, it is always good to spend a real family time without distractions or worries about work, so vacations are a perfect time to enjoy in our destination.

According to this survey, 65 percent of those interviewed it does more or less the same things during the holidays. Of course, it is about devoting more time to other issues: the family (chosen by 49.6 percent of respondents), rest (49 percent) and enjoy the sun and the outdoors (36.8 percent) ).

Free time and good holiday time do not seem to encourage Spaniards to do sport, perhaps because of the heat: only 9.6 percent of respondents talk about sports as the most practiced activity during summer vacations.

Active holidays

Although the sport is not practiced much, the majority (52.8 percent) of the Spaniards try to take advantage of rest time by staying active instead of relaxing. Also, many talk about traveling over staying at home (64.5 percent) and enjoying family and friends instead of meeting new people (61.4 percent).

On the other hand, he points out that 70 percent of Spaniards spend their free time watching television, a percentage that has increased alarmingly: more than 20 percent when compared to the same survey of last 2014. Internet has also gained followers: 42.6 percent spend their time in the social networks, 13 percent more than last year.

Free time on vacation

In this way, the preferred options for Spaniards to occupy their leisure time are go for a walk or walk (71.3 percent of cases); watch television (70 percent), read books, magazines and comics (47.5 percent) and listening to music (46.6 percent of those interviewed in the CIS survey).

After these, they are placed the sport (chosen by 37 percent of respondents as a favorite activity for leisure time), the visits to the cinema or the theater (24.8 percent Spanish people have mentioned it) and go to bars and clubs (29.3 percent).

The least chosen options for Spaniards who have been interviewed for this survey have been going to associations or clubs (10.7 percent), attend sporting events (11.3 percent) and study on vacation (14.7 percent).

Finally, according to this survey, most of the leisure activities during the summer season are carried out alone, with friends, or as a couple: 35 percent of respondents say they watch television alone or as a couple, 41 percent play sports alone or with friends, and 65.6 percent go to bars and clubs with friends.

Holidays with children

Most of these data coincide with those of a previous survey that talked about the importance that Spaniards give to the family and, therefore, to the children, during the holiday season. According to a HomeAway study prepared in several different countries, children increasingly count on the choice of holiday destination, being determinants in many cases because, thus, parents understand that they will enjoy more family time.
