Children take 90 minutes to ask how much is missing

"How much left?". It seems like the song of the summer, but it is the string of our children every time we go on a trip ... and the hard journey more than 90 minutes. And it is an hour and a half because that is the time it takes for children to ask how much time it takes to reach our destination, as a study has just revealed.

The study, carried out with children from the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany and Spain, reveals that the children take an average of one hour and 27 minutes to ask their parents the mythical question "how much is missing" when they make a trip in the car. This is confirmed by the survey conducted by Enterprise-Rent-A-Car to 4,500 parents of these countries.

Although this is the average, not all children react equally to car trips: 46% and 48% of French and Germans seem to be more restless: they ask the question during the first half hour of the journey, while those from the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain seem to have more wait: The question occurs during the first hour of travel in most cases.

With the children in the car

Of course, not all children ask the question: according to the parents surveyed, 12% of the little ones never ask how long It remains to reach the destination while traveling by car, while there is an eight percent waiting at least three hours to ask. On the opposite side are those whoThey can not stand 15 minutes before asking his parents about the duration of the journey: this is the case of one out of every 14 children.

Taking a trip with children in the car is not always easy. In fact, 12 percent of parents surveyed say their children "misbehave" during car vacations, a percentage that is much higher in the case of Spain, when it rises to 21 percent. However, most of Spanish parents ensure that children have correct behavior: This is what 79% of respondents say.

Another interesting fact is that the Irish are the ones who most recognize (41%) that They do not tell the truth to their children about the duration of the trip when asked, a percentage that in the case of Spanish parents stands at 33 percent.

Traveling by car with family

"Freedom and flexibility" are the two key concepts highlighted by the parents surveyed to justify the use of the car as a means of transport during vacations. In addition to this, according to the study, slightly more than half of the parents (52%) see in the car a "opportunity" to spend time with the family, and 43% of those who have done so ensure that there has been nothing that has displeased them.

Of course, not everything is perfect. According to the survey, for 40% boredom on long journeys, it is the main cause of unleashing arguments. In fact, 22% of parents say that if they "disgusted" some aspect of the trip was precisely that children get bored in the car or fight between siblings.

In the case of Spaniards, parents resort to their own strategies to keep children entertained and ensure that they behave well during the journey. For example, 44% and 41% say they use video games or movies, respectively, to keep children occupied. Even so, traditional games win: 70% of respondents use others games like the "I see-I see".

Likewise, a trip enlivened with music is more pleasant, according to the survey, from which it appears that 'pop-rock' music is the preferred for these occasions (38%) instead of more traditional ones or that considered as children's music. In fact, the most listened to artists are Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Rihanna.
