Healthy diets with medicinal plants
With the arrival of good weather the number of people who want to lose weight increases and medicinal plants of pharmaceutical dispensation can help to achieve it gradually and safely, accompanied by diet and exercise. Depending on the needs of each person there will be a more appropriate medicinal plant than another.
Pharmacists are good advisors
According to a survey conducted by INFITO (Center for Research on Phytotherapy), 26% of the adult population wanted to start a diet this year and women to a greater extent (28.5%) than men. Six out of four respondents (59%) would like that, in case of wanting to lose weight, your doctor will advise preparations of medicinal plants.
However, as acknowledged by Dr. Alberto Sacristán, a specialist in Family Medicine and a member of INFITO, doctors do not usually recommend these preparations because they do not study them. Phytotherapy is the work of pharmacists, explains Concha Navarro, professor of Pharmacology at the University of Granada and president of INFITO.
