How much do you know about Africa? It's funny, the neighboring continent is only a few kilometers from us (14, in particular, to the peninsula), and we hardly know anything about it. 1. Africa has a total of 54 countries and 9 deserts. As well the second longest river in the world It is in this continent: the Nile (more than 6,000 kilometers long).
2. On the African continent, some 1,500 different languages distributed in four linguistic families: Afro-Asian, Niger-Congolese, Nilo-Saharan and Joisana. In addition to these, other languages are spoken: English, French, Portuguese and Spanish as a result of colonization.
3. In Africa there is the The largest shipyard in the world. It is located in the bay of Nouadhibou, in Mauritaria, and has more than 300 "steel skeletons".
4. The 10 poorest countries in the world They are part of this continent: Niger, Ethiopia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Somalia, the Central African Republic, Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
5. The greatest concentration in the world of stylish It is in the national park of Chobe, in Botswana: about 120,000 pachyderms live here.

9. In Africa they have been found the remains of the world's oldest humans. Specifically, in Ethiopia a jaw has been found with 2.8 million years.
10. The name of Africa comes from Latin and means "without cold".
