Opel Corsa, total renovation

The fifth generation of Opel Corsa already on sale in bodywork of three and five doors, with a price from 13,540 euros. The new model has gained in image and has the latest connectivity systems. In the 32 years of life of the model 12.4 million units have been sold and currently the Opel Corsa occupies the second position of its segment in the Spanish market.

The Corsa was the first Opel manufactured in the plant of Figueruelas (Zaragoza) and the fifth generation will continue to be, sharing production with the German Eisenach.

Opel Corsa, totally new

The new Corsa does not inherit a single component of the current model. Its center of gravity has been lowered by 5 mm, with a more rigid subframe and a new geometry of the suspension, to give it greater stability in the corners and better poise on the straights. It also has an optimized cushioning that provides more comfort and filters much better the imperfections of the roads, which also contributes to the development of the new electrical direction, which varies its hardness depending on the speed. In addition, the management has a program of operation in the city, at the push of a button, which considerably reduces the maneuver hardness.

The two three and five-door Corsa bodies they have the same length of 4.02 meters and the only difference is that the one with three doors is 2 millimeters lower and 10 narrower than the five. Aesthetically, the Corsa has gained in dynamism, with a front that highlights the carved headlights, Led lights and trapezoidal grille and chrome accents.

Inside, more space and connectivity

In the interior the most outstanding, which was already in the previous generation, is the generous space for the occupants, even for those in the rear seats. The trunk volume is the same in both bodies, with 285 liters.

In connectivity systems, the Corsa is up to date. Its IntelliLink infotainment system includes a 7-inch color touch screen that is centered between the driver and the passenger. And it's compatible with both Apple and Android devices. The driver can use applications such as BringGo for navigation, as well as Stitcher and TuneIn to listen to radio and podcasts from around the world at any time. The integration of Apple's iOS system within the IntelliLink system allows Siri Eyes Free voice control, which makes it easier for drivers to listen to or receive dictated SMS messages, as well as emails, while the driver keeps his hands on the steering wheel and the view on the road.

The range of engines counts in gasoline with the 1.4 and power of 75 and 90 horses in atmospheric and 100 horses with turbo; and in diesel, the 1.3 CDTI in 75 and 95 horses. But the big news is the new 1.0 Ecotec three-cylinder that will arrive in Spain in the version of 115 horses.
As with any new model, there are many more developments in terms of safety and driver aids, such as parking assistant and many others.
