Exercises to stimulate the memory of children

Exercise memory It can be fun for children of 3 to 6 years. For this, a relaxed and calm environment is necessary, in which the child finds rest and can pay attention to the stimulating exercises that we are going to offer him. The child must put all the senses in favor of this learning moment, in order to be able to store all the possible information in a conscious, motivated and interested way by what he learns.

These lessons can be related to other learning, such as rhyme, song, tongue twisters, images, etc. In addition, these stimuli should increase in complexity and be more varied as the child grows. And as it grows in age, its capacity to process more quantity and information grows.

Exercises to stimulate the memory of children

The exercises to stimulate the child's abilities are many and varied. Among them, we can see many that help to exercise memory as a child, these are some of them.

- Association cards: our son has to remember where the two identical cards are. To do this, we show them all the cards face up first, and then they turn face down. We can design the cards ourselves, with colorful drawings that are easy to remember.

- What was there ?: To develop your visual memory, we must place several objects on a table. We let the child observe them for a while and then we remove them. The child will have to remember what they were and we will put them on the table.

- Children's songs: Children love songs. We can encourage them to memorize those we have recorded for them on CDs and to sing them several times. Let's play with them to put the end of the songs every time we sing together.
Thus, when we say "there was Mr. Don ...", the child will have to conclude the sentence saying: "don gato". This little trick is ideal to develop the attention and memory of children.

- Stories: our children like us to tell them the same stories over and over again. When they know it, we can intentionally make mistakes so that they correct us. We can also ask them what will happen.

- What did we do yesterday?: To surprise the child and test his memory, we can ask him about the activities carried out the previous day. It is about remembering chronologically, from morning to night.

- Telephone numbers: Let's write on various pieces of paper various phone numbers. Some will be similar, others more different. We will tell you that one of them is the most important and you will have to discover it when we mix them all. We can also ask you to learn interesting numbers.

- What is different?: a player, child or adult, appears dressed normally, then, we ask our son to close his eyes for several seconds, during which time the person who participates will have to change something of his appearance (for example, put on the sleeve of the sweater ). Then we will tell the child to discover the difference.

A memory in full form

- Try to establish an order in daily activities. Disorganization usually causes many memory failures.

- Let the child go to look for the things that he needs or that we ask him: clothes, toys, food ... in this way, you will have to learn where things are stored and remember them when necessary.

- Oblivions are normal, It is impossible to remember all the information that arrives daily. That is why, if our son forgets any of his tasks, let's give him clues until he remembers what he has to do.

- To surprise the child and test his memory, we can ask him about the activities carried out the previous day, or when he goes to sleep, we can spend some time with him remembering what we have done during the day. It is about remembering chronologically, from morning to night.
