Open the Edublogs contest, the blogs of Education

Until April 3, 2015 the deadline to participate in the IX Edublogs 2015 Awards is open, the contest of educational blogs, an initiative that aims to assess the importance and impact of the Blogs in Education, as a didactic tool for the development of curricular contents and motivation of the students.

What's an educative blog

But what is considered a educational blog? For the purposes of the prize, an educational blog or edublog will be considered to be those digital publications, freely accessible through the Internet, with textual and / or multimedia content with a marked pedagogical, didactic or educational character, basically original and unpublished, in which Contributions from their authors are organized chronologically inverse.


And is that "blogs are, at the moment, basic tools that continue to bring the methodological and technological change to the classroom, as they have been doing for years * without haste, without pause", says Isabel Ruiz, president of Espiral, the platform of Education and Technology that has launched these awards. "The Edublogs represent the value of the simple, of what brings together restless teachers, creative students, fathers and mothers who bet on the future, all those who have hope in tomorrow," says Isabel Ruiz.

Objectives of the Edublogs Awards

The main objectives of this ninth edition of the Edublogs Awards, which are open to the entire educational community, are:
- Recognize the work of many teachers in the network demonstrating its pedagogical utility.
- Serve as a motivating showcase of an educational current within the blogosphere, which helps to generalize the use of ICT in the classroom.
- Favor channels of opinion and debate about the need to advance in the use of blogs in the educational environment.
- Offer a selection of good practices that encourage to initiate or consolidate the use in blogs in educational environments, learning from successful experiences.


How to participate in the Edublogs awards

The modalities of the prize are organized in blogs of: Students, Family Associations, School Libraries, Educational Centers, Teachers 'and Teachers' Collectives, Children's Teachers, Teachers and Teachers, Educational Resources and Educational Reflection.

In the IX Edublogs Awards, all the blogs can participate. First publication date is before October 1, 2014, except in the case of Blogs of professors and in the one of Blogs of students, in which blogs of smaller antiquity will be admitted in function of the duration of the course. In blogs older than one year old at the time of their presentation to the Edublogs Awards, the jury will only assess the articles published during the last twelve months, although, depending on the category, the age of the blog can be taken into account as a valuation criterion. Regarding the frequency of publication and number of articles: the submitted blog will have at least 10 articles published.


The only exceptions they are contemplated in the participation section they are for the winning blogs of the 3 previous editions of the Awards Y for the blogs of the members of the organizing team of the prizes, including the members of the jury, and of the members of the board of directors of Espiral, including the members, who will not be able to present themselves in this edition.

To this award blogs can be submitted from any country provided they are written in one of the official languages ​​of the Spanish State: Spanish, Catalan, Basque and Galician. In addition, blogs written in another language that is part of the subjects studied in educational centers in Spain are also admitted.

The candidatures of the blogs will be able to be presented by any person filling the form of the section Inscriptions. Each accepted application will be published in an article with the description sent. The jury will publish the finalists on May 7, 2015 and the publication of final results will be on May 15, 2015. The Award ceremony the June 13, 2015 in Madrid at Medialab-Prado.
