They propose to increase the motivation to improve school performance

Increase motivation and prevent students from repeating the course. That is what the special non-permanent commission has proposed to study the techniques and actions to improve school performance and employment opportunities for young people of the Valencian Corts to improve students' school performance in this Spanish Autonomous Community.

According to his presentation, which was released last week, this commission advocates that students are more motivated and, most importantly, involved. It also requests that there be fewer repetitions of the course, and that these only occur in very exceptional cases. The objective of all this is clear: that children perform more in school.

The proposal ensures that it is necessary to raise awareness among families about the value of schools and the importance of teachers, so that their participation, their level of demand and, also, expectations about their children according to their level of maturity will be encouraged. All this will be achieved, as they have advanced, through calls for awards for educational excellence and innovation, as well as a social pact for excellence in education in Valencia.

More motivation against the failure of the students

According to the opinion of this Valencian commission, "the failure of a student is personal ", so he understands that measures can be taken that will directly revert "in the improvement of each one of the students of the system". For this, what he raises are 12 "challenges" linked to the educational development of each student, who "regardless of their level of risk, should benefit the entire school population."

These proposed challenges are, in particular, to promoteto motivation of students and their involvement in school tasks; increase your subjective well-being index; promote their autonomy, responsibility and personal self-demand; stimulate your critical and creative thinking; and "achieve a balanced maturation of all aspects of their creativity".

With this, it is also intended to increase the participation and protagonism of students in all educational areas, in such a way that is committed to improving coexistence and teamwork. But not only that, the Corts also talk about the family and the importance of getting involved in their development processes.

On the other hand, the proposal refers to the need to improve the quality of leisure and free time of students, the importance of educating their talent, and the requirement to increase the performance of learning, so that they improve the results of external tests.

Measures to achieve performance improvement

To achieve all the proposed objectives and challenges, the members of this parliamentary committee have proposed various measures. Among them, they have talked about guaranteeing the quality of early childhood education as prevention of school failure in compulsory education.

They have also referred to the preparation of a transition plan to primary where it is mandatory to make an individualized diagnosis of each student, and the importance of fluid communication between parents and teachers.

They also propose that there be more elective subjects, and that the staff of the centers be adapted to the current educational needs and their educational programs. On the other hand, they talk about adapting the curriculum to the maturational development of the students and to promote interdisciplinarity, early stimulation and the work of multiple intelligences.

In the same way, they advocate a "balanced admission of students" in schools to avoid "ghettos" and also mention the option of changing the evaluation culture, so that it not only focuses on the measurement of results, but also in the analysis and improvement of learning processes through the use of tools of evaluation by competencies.

Regarding teachers, there is also the need to improve the quality of their teaching function, and that the teaching faculties are involved in improving the quality of schools.
