Ideas for making costumes at home

The costumes allow them to play the interpretation and their imagination is at full speed when they are converted into a character or animal. Role-playing games have many benefits for children. Although we can buy very cheap costumes in stores specializing in parties and toy stores, we can also make them ourselves and set up a theater at home.

Tips for reusing old clothes for a child costume

One way to use the sheets, blankets and clothes that have been old and we are going to remove is to use them to make costumes for our children. For example, for the coat of a king or prince, we can use a sheet to which we will carry out the alterations that we see necessary. Here we offer some fun proposals with which children will have a lot of fun.

1. Little lamb. If our son wants to be a lamb, we will use an old black long-sleeved shirt and sew large pieces of cotton on his body (in the sleeves is optional). For the head, we will take a cap that we will also sew cotton and long black ears that we will take from another black garment. We will dress the boy or girl underneath with black or maya pants and finally we will paint the tip of the nose in black. Ready!

2. Angel. The angel costume is not difficult, but requires more dedication: A white leotard, a white shirt to make it long, we put gold or silver tinsel on the bottom, on cardboard we make some wings and with a safety pins or sewing we fasten them to the suit, we put a ribbon on the golden forehead that acts as a crown or with aluminum foil, and if you want, we finally paint it with a bit of glitter on the cheeks. This costume can also be fairy if instead of white, we do it in blue, pink or any other color. We can add a mask with glitter to make it more complete.

3. Phantom A ghost costume is very simple. It is enough for a sheet to have two holes where our son can see through them. This way you can stimulate your imagination with the disguise.

4. West cowboy. For our son to become a cowboy from the West, we just have to dress him in jeans, put a shirt on him and make him a vest with some old jacket that we have: we take off his sleeves and we sew strips like fringes made from excess sleeves of the jacket. With a scarf around the neck and a cowboy hat that can be found in any toy store, it will be perfect. It only remains to add a toy pistol on your belt.

5. Vampire. To be a vampire, our son has to dress all in black, ideally with a black jacket and a white shirt underneath, and make up his face in white with dark circles.

6. Pirate. For children to become a pirate, take an old shirt and cut off the sleeves to create the vest, then look for a white long-sleeved shirt and put it under the vest with pants that reach the middle of the leg. Do not forget the patch over the eye, this can be done with a strip of cloth. And of course, the headscarf is essential.

7. Witch. To dress a witch girl, sure you have some black dress that you no longer use. You can wear it with black shoes and a cone hat that we will make with black cardboard and glue.
