How to dress at work

It has been a long time since getting dressed to go to the office does not necessarily mean choosing a suit. How to dress at work? In some companies it is allowed to go something more casual. What's more, in some "offices" it would be strange to go with a suit. Depending on what work we do, there are more alternatives when choosing clothes, which does not mean that we disregard to follow a minimum dress code.

What do I wear to go to work

Maybe the power dress advocated by the Americans in the 70s and 80s is now obsolete. Although there are few who go from rigorous dark suit to the office, in the subconscious of all there are still some basic rules when it comes to dress at work, fundamental to win, on the one hand, points as an employee and on the other, trust in one:

1. Observe others. When you start working in a new company, see how the rest of the employees are dressed and do the same. Dress with more sobriety, being true to your style, will make you feel comfortable.

2. Informal does not equate to careless. Remember that casual or casual style does not mean make-up, with old clothes or dirty hair.

3. At the midpoint. The ends are never good to wear at work, avoid going ultra fashion. Dressing up with updated classics you're never wrong.

4. Blazer, the wild-card garment. Even if your work is casual, do not underestimate the power of a blazer, with jeans and a white shirt to wear at work. You will have a more professional look.

5. Cardigan knit, the alternative. It is a good option to alternate with the blazer, it can soften your appearance without losing respectability to wear at work.

6. Fixed, but informal. Do not wait for them to tell you, if you have to deal with clients, make sure you wear your clothes at work.

7. Avoid transparencies. Do not let glimpse your underwear. Never wear transparent clothes to wear at work.

8. Skirts, neither mini nor maxi. The first for being inadequate and the other for unprofessional to dress at work. If you have "teachable" legs you can wear the skirt a little shorter, but never exceed the limit: 2.5 cm. above the knee.

9. Dress with your size. Choose tight or slightly loose garments, run away from everything else to dress at work.

10. Do not teach too much skin. Says M. Spillane, the famous image consultant, "the more skin you show, the less authority you project." A part of the legs and neckline also refers to the arms, a sleeve, even if it is very short, is more appropriate than going sleeveless to work.

11. Neutral colors. If you do not want to bore the rest of the staff at work, take note: neutral colors do not tire and planes combine better with everything. Whatever you do, never consider a butane orange or a bright yellow. If you want to gain authority at work wear dark colors or play with strong contrasts of color, discard the prints (especially if they are huge) and pastel shades or reserve them for the accessories. If, on the other hand, you need to "win friends" or influence people, choose medium tones to wear at work.

12. Use quality complements and never put a heel that prevents you from walking naturally.
