To introduce children to museum hobbies, there is nothing better than approaching museums that offer things that they like, such as museums with workshops for children. If in your city you have the classic "museum of toys" (classic because they exist in several cities in Spain) surely you have tried.
As with adults, if what we see does not interest us or we do not understand it, the disconnection will be quite fast.
In Madrid, the offer of children's museums is quite extensive and, if it is not a specific museum for children, museums usually strive to make the visit something "childish".

ICO Museum

The ICO Museum is best known for adults who specialize in architecture, but it is a matter of time before it becomes a benchmark in children's workshops that already enjoy a high level of participation. These are free workshops aimed at children over 6 years old, free and in which didactics and creativity are combined.
Lázaro Galdiano Foundation

It organizes workshops almost every week for children from 6 years old in order to introduce them to permanent collections or temporary exhibitions. Generally they look for a limited number of works, no more than 3 or 4, in which they concentrate and on which they make children think. After a visit of about 45 minutes, they organize a creative workshop in which the child puts himself in the skin of the authors to create their own work that they can then take home.
In this case the workshops have a cost of approximately 6 euros per child.
Cerralbo Museum

This museum is located in the Marqués de Cerralbo mansion, in the heart of Madrid, very close to Plaza de España. Its decoration is fascinating and also has a special room for children.
From its website you can download two tours for children in which they approach the portrait technique and travel and life of the Marquis of Cerralbo in a fun and entertaining. If you forget to download them, they have some copies at the box office.
They also organize free workshops for children from 6 to 12 years old and sometimes also for children from 3 to 6 years old.

Another house that is worth visiting in Madrid. Full of light, in the area of Church, the house of the painter of the Mediterranean is full of curious things to see, especially concentrated in the master's workshop. Children can enjoy free workshops throughout the year (limited places upon reservation) and concerts in the garden in summer. The concerts are also for adults.

In a museum full of boats, it is easy to imagine crossing the seven seas dressed as pirates. This museum has material for the whole family to make their own journey. It is a "self-guided" view that parents can direct thanks to the didactic material that we can download from their website before going to the museum.

All these museums close on Mondays and most are free on Sundays and Saturday afternoons.
