Technology addicts

Many parents wonder if their children are addicted to technology, a new activity that has become deeply integrated into our daily lives, to the point that many could not live without them. Being hooked to the mobile, television, computer or any other new generation machine is a disorder.

It is undeniable that technologies have such a presence that it would be very difficult for us to live without them. While some simply make life easier for us and even improve it (safer cars, more modern kitchens, etc.), others can cause us suchaddiction for its misuse that in case of being deprived of these, nerves, anxiety or boredom are generated. They are addicted to communication technology.
Undoubtedly, the technological devices that have penetrated most in youth are the mobile and the computer. The young people have grown up with them and the technologies have changed intensely the customs and ways of life of the society, modifying the way we relate One with another.

Adolescents and the critical sense

Given the magical aura of the Internet and new technologies, it is more urgent than ever to have a critical sense since it is important to know how to use them well, and that is something that is not being taught in schools or in institutes or universities.

But what do these communication technologies have to engage so much? Precisely that: theenormous communication power what are you offering. These technologies, especially the Internet, suppose a breaking of barriers and the possibility of communicating with any person wherever he is. For young people, consult social networks and communicate with chats, forums and messages with all their friends quickly and almost simultaneously is an entertainment that can take many hours. However, this virtual way of communicating undermines the social skills of boys and girls who invest a good part of their time in the use of these devices.

Advantages and disadvantages of technology

The new technologies offer many advantages, but also disadvantages. The danger lies in getting used to always hiding the face behind the computer, not talking face to face, losing the best way of relating, which is the "you to you", looking into the eyes, observing the expressions without always resorting to social networks.

- Look for alternatives. Do not rely solely on the Internet to access information. An example: now it is feasible to download any movie from the network, but that does not replace the enjoyment of a good film session, in an appropriate environment and with the perfect company. Most likely, we will learn more from life, we will get much more juice watching a good movie.

- Try to communicate face to face.Refuge always on the Internet to transmit to a friend or boyfriend what is unable to say face to face, is deceiving himself. With this practice, you will become a person who finds it difficult to face certain things, especially to express your love to the child you like.

- Do not trust the people you know from the chats and forums and those you have not had the opportunity to see. It is easy to be fooled and impersonate other people or say that they have an appearance and life that does not correspond to reality.

- Bet on activities that force you to move so you do not stay at home and you think of going to the Internet or video games to pass the time. You can take a walk or bike, visit interesting neighborhoods, join a gym or meet your friends just to chat. You can check that after these activities, you will have a healthy feeling of having made good use of time.
