Also to those who do not read due to lack of time. But above all, those who from school, family and other institutions struggle because children and adults do not stop reading. The work they do is commendable. Thank you.
And today we know that reading has very beneficial effects on the human being. It affects mood, cognitive development and even the brain. Knowing what we lose when we renounce it is today an object of analysis rather than obligatory. It is a pity that we have to address this issue, because there was a day in which the human being took a step beyond imagining. He managed to transform oral language into symbols. And for generations the written word allowed us to learn and enjoy free time. Then there was little competition.
But today everything has changed. Reading has many threats. New technologies have revolutionized leisure and above all access to knowledge. And what not to say about time; Not even children have it: extracurricular activities, homework, bathing, dinner. In spite of everything, the data on the reading habits of the Spaniards are not all bad. Or maybe yes? According to the latest report of the Federation of Guilds and Publishers of Spain, little more than half of the Spanish population usually read in their free time.
