Collect signatures to improve protection for victims of gender violence

November is the month against domestic violence, whose day is celebrated on the 25th of that month. Coinciding with the anniversary, there are many who this month take to the streets to demand more measures from the rulers to protect victims of gender violence. In this regard, a petition created in Change.org has obtained the almost 50,000 rubrics that it needed.

So far this year, almost 50 women have died at the hands of their partners, very similar numbers and could even exceed those of 2014, when 54 feminicides were counted throughout the year. It is these figures that have prompted the launch of this signature campaign.

The petition, launched by the Association Velaluz gender violence, asks the candidates for the Presidency of the Government to protect "minors and women victims of sexist violence." In his letter, this association recalls some cases of domestic violence experienced so far this year and sentence: "unprotected and unprotected, this is how battered women and their children feel".

Abused women

"Margarita, Rocío and dozens of women with whom we work in the 'Ve-la-luz' association need protection, that Justice ensure their safety and that of their children", insist on the text written on CHange.org, where They add that these women "need to feel empowered to bring about the changes that will allow them to have a decent life."

For all these reasons, your petition wants the Ministry of Justice to "act urgently and take effective measures to protect battered women and their children." Specifically, this is the manifesto prepared by the association with the measures that, they say, "would guarantee adequate protection."

Measures against domestic violence

These are the measures contained in your manifesto, as they appear in the text of the signature petition:

Immediate review of the files contaminated by the unscientific "Parental Alignment Syndrome" and the opening of sanction files for those operators / professionals who have promoted these practices, destroying the lives of mothers and children.
