Taiwan's parents forced to control their children's cell phone
In a society in which the "weird" is to see children and adolescents without using new technologies and where there are even cases where they are hooked on mobile phones and social networks, highlights the latest measure taken by Taiwan: will force parents to control the time their children spend on new technologies.
From now on, Taiwanese parents will not only be forced to control the time their children spend on new technologies, but also they can be fined if your minor children use the Smartphone or any other electronic device for too long.
Accustomed as we are to see the young people using new technologies with complete normality without questioning why this is happening, the Government of Taiwan has pointed out parents of children as responsible of the time they dedicate to social networks, according to international media.
Fines to parents
Parents can face fines greater than 1,000 euros if your children use the new technologies too much, since lawmakers have understood that the fact that minors are exposed to video games, television, smartphones and tablets, among others, for more than half an hour is too much.
However, what has not yet been specified is how will the authorities of the island to control the work of parents or from how much time in front of these devices parents will be fined.
The objective: to protect minors from the dangers of new technologies
Although new technologies have a great potential for children's learning, the truth is that they also represent many dangers. Therefore, the objective of the Taiwan authorities is protect minors from the dangers of new technologies, avoiding that they use, for example, mobile phones without control since they are small.
In this sense, they have talked about the loss of privacy that comes with the continuous use of mobile phones and social networks. And it is that all the experts agree that children must use the new technologies in a responsible and safe way to avoid dangers such as addiction or 'cyberbullyin'.
Abusing the abuse of the mobile phone or social networks can cause psychological disorders (known as cyberpathology), which can be manifested by depressive symptoms, a tendency to isolation and aggressiveness and poor school performance.
