The first online and bilingual children's library arrives

Spain has been the country chosen for the worldwide launch of the first online and bilingual children's library. The interactive digital platform Storyly.es, is a reading boutique dedicated to the promotion of reading and English learning among children from 3 to 9 years old.

It has the collaboration of 20 Spanish publishers and is composed of more than 120 titles selected among which are classic stories, poetry, music and adventure books, among others.

The objective of this online platform is the promotion of children's reading in the digital age and it aims to be useful both to families and to schools and institutions. Among the novelties offered by this project is the first bilingual online storytelling in English and Spanish, and a remote reading service so that children and family can read together even if they are miles away.

This is how this online children's library works

Its use is very simple and intuitive, so that children and adults can move around the platform easily. It can be accessed by computer or tablets with an internet connection and using any browser. For tablets, the App is available for download on Android and iOS operating systems. To access all the services of Storyly.es, it is necessary to register as a user and pay a fee of € 5.99 per month. This online child reading platform offers the user the possibility to create a profile for each child, in which they can manage their favorite readings.

Services for families with children to promote reading

Storyly.es was born in 2010 in the United States from the concept of distance reading through the internet and during the development of the project these additional services have been included:

1. Reading stories. The library has 120 titles selected among which are classic stories, poetry, music and adventure books, among others. The algorithm of Storyly.es chooses the recommended books based on the age of the child and the library is continuously updated. Each child has a personalized platform that recalls their recent readings.

2. Help to learn to read. With this tool, children can learn to read faster and in a more fun way. It is an accelerator complement of learning. It offers the possibility of listening to a page several times and has a reward system with memory games at the end of each reading.

3. Magical storyteller. This online storytelling service with professional storytellers is available in two modes:
- Basic reading: Play the story you want to hear by individually narrating each page. The user can listen to the story at his own pace.
- Continuous reading: It offers the possibility of programming a story to be played continuously from start to finish with a single click.

4. Help to learn English. It complements the study of English, thanks to a collection of stories in two languages: in Spanish and English both written and heard through the narration of professional narrators. The books are divided into three levels: basic, intermediate and advanced.

5. Remote reading. Destined to strengthen bonds with loved ones that are far away, besides incorporating relatives in the emotional and intellectual development of the children. By using Google Hangouts, the adult can read the child and vice versa even if they are separated kilometers away.
