10 requests from the FEFN to include the family in the policy

The Federation of Large Families FEFN has prepared a list of 10 petitions to transfer, in the coming weeks, to the meetings that will be held with all the parties that are running for next June's elections. For this, the FEFN will re-enable the platform * Ask the Government *, so that families could make their direct requests to politicians. Citizens can make their proposals or vote some of those already raised.

With the aim that the family is at the center of the political debate in the next campaign and the issues most demanded and needed by the families are included in the electoral programs, the FEFN has resumed contacts with the political parties to discuss the implementation underway of this decalogue of measures:

Decalogue of requests from large families

1. Establish a universal benefit for dependent children,
2. Greater economic support for school expenses
3. Tax deductions to reduce school expenses, through discounts on the price of the school cafeteria, morning classroom, extracurricular activities and the purchase of school supplies ...
4. Bonus regarding the IBI, tax in which large families have a bonus that can be up to 90%, but has been cut in many municipalities.
5. Specific aid for the purchase of vehicles, also second hand,
6. Facilitate employment of parents or mothers of large families
7. Discounts or discounts in basic household supplies (water, electricity, gas)
8. Expand the contribution period by reduction of working hours until the child reaches 12 years of age.
9. Criterion of income per capita in all benefits limited by income.
10. Tax relief in housing.

The family at the center of the political debate

The Spanish Federation of Large Families believes that it is essential to implement this decalogue given the difficult situation that the family is going through in Spain, as it has shown the Evolution Report on the Family in Spain, prepared by the Institute of Politics Family.

Among the main measures, it is essential boost the birth rate in Spain, since according to the statistics of the Institute of Family Policy IPF, 719 more births are needed per day for the natural generational change of the population to take place. The aging of the population has serious consequences in relation to the maintenance of the welfare state and, therefore, the FEFN considers it very important that the future government take measures to invest in the family. Currently, Spain has 562,000 large families with official title of large family and 7 out of 10 have 3 children.
