Sponsorship lasts until the sponsored child is 18 years old, although there is also the possibility that the sponsor contributes with their studies, in which case it extends until the age of 23. There is no legal link between the sponsored child and his sponsor, since it is a voluntary link. This justifies the fact that the child can not come to Spain to visit his godfather, but some organizations allow them to go to the place where the child is to be known through the foundation.

- SOS Children's Villages. Sponsorship through this NGO benefits a village, that is, a group of children who can not live with their parents and is referred to by the SOS family organization. The minimum contribution fee is 20 euros, which is expected to contribute to the development and education of children and allow them to enjoy the experiences of any child of their age.
- Help in Action. Contributions favor the development of a locality and the improvement of the living conditions of children. The minimum quota that sponsors contribute is 18 euros per month and the maximum 24. They work in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

- Plan. It is an organization that works with 1.5 million children around the world, in health projects, water, education, resource regeneration and intercultural communication. Sponsors donate 18 euros each month or, if they prefer, 21, 25 or 30 euros.
- Grinbuzz. It is an organization that allows sponsoring children for free. The funds that are destined to the different countries are collected from the viewing of the videos that they present on their website and from what the advertisers pay for those reproductions.
