More than 90% of Spanish children practice English at home
The vast majority of Spanish children usually exercise their level of English at home. This is shown by a study Cambridge University Press, publisher of the University of Cambridge, which has shown that 90% of Spanish minors practice this language regularly in their homes.
Only 8% do not practice English at home
This study based its results on a survey of 500 Spanish parents to learn about the habits of language teaching in their homes. Specifically only 8% of children in Spain do not do any exercise at home to promote their level of English, the rest affirmed positively that their children did exercise this language regularly.
In fact, 26% of the parents surveyed said that this idiomatic practice occurs daily. As for the days in which these exercises are done, it is during the week when they are most performed, as recognized by 82% of the participants. Regarding the second most repeated option, it is on weekend afternoons when 62% of Spanish households prefer to practice English.
The mornings of Saturdays and Sundays is the best time to practice English for the 52% of parents surveyed. These parents also believe that the exercise of this language can be combined perfectly with other activities of a playful nature.
Cartoons and songs, ideal for practicing English
One of the most repeated tools for English at home is the songs in this language and the cartoon series. In this sense music is placed as the most used instrument for this learning as indicated by the 68% of parents surveyed.
In second place are the series of cartoons, instruments that employ around 59% of parents in Spain. In third place appear some toys that encourage the learning of this language, a method that is used in 52% of surveyed households. Films and books close this ranking of the most used methods for the exercise of English at home.
But as for the frequency with which these instruments are used, cartoons are placed first because 43% of children see these products several days a week and only 2% never consume them. Web pages, home courses and magazines are the least used to promote English learning at home, these methods are used by 17%, 16% and 8% of families in Spain respectively.
