Spanish children, the happiest third parties in the world
The happiness It is subjective. A person can feel happy with a life that another would dislike ... and vice versa. We all want to be happy, something that is much more in our hands than we think. Although Happiness is difficult to measure, On many occasions we find surveys that intend to do so and that yield interesting results.
This is the case of a survey prepared by the project Children's Worlds, who has interviewed children from a total of 15 countries to measure your degree of well-being ... and you have found that Spanish children are the happiest third in the world when all the variables are joined.
Dissatisfied with education
And we talk about uniting all the variables because, if we look only at the related to school, the little Spaniards are among the most dissatisfied from the list: they occupy position 13 of a total of 15 possible. In this list, they are only ahead of the children of Turkey and the United Kingdom.
To carry out this interesting research, an international team from the University of York (UK) developed a survey of 53,000 children with different cultural realities and ages between eight and 12 years old. In this way, an image that aims to compare the welfare of children in the United Kingdom with those of other countries in the world, including aspects such as the family, education or the perception of the body.
This is how these results have been reached, finding that, with respect to the satisfaction index with life in general, it is the Romanian children who postulate themselves as the happiest in the world, followed by Colombians and Spaniards.
Self esteem
Another important result of this work is given in the survey related to the body, appearance or self-esteem: reveals that the proportion of children dissatisfied in these three aspects so relevant today is below 10 percent. Of course, differences have been found between boys and girls: they are considerably more dissatisfied than children with their appearance.
In this same questionnaire we have seen that British children are the most satisfied with their bodies, an aspect in which men feel more secure than females. The last positions in this regard are Colombia (position 14) and Nepal (15).
Happy kids
The results of this survey are in line with other similar work in this regard. Thus, a report developed in 32 countries by Nickelodeon Kids & Family GPS that aimed to measure how children are today and how they will be tomorrow's found that the Spanish were also the happiest children in the world: they ranked fourth in the world ranking.
This survey also revealed the importance of the family for happiness, Young people stressed that the most important factor and that more happiness generated them was spending time with family and friends.
