Chinese, German and French, the most demanded languages

Bilingualism among children is no longer limited to English. Although English and Spanish are the most spoken languages in the world, other languages that are gaining strength are Chinese, German and French, the languages most demanded in schools by families for their children.

While English has become clear to most people that it is the wild language, with which practically one person can move anywhere in the world, there are others that are acquiring great importance for reasons related to employment. This is the case of learning languages such as Chinese and German.

The rise of German among the most demanded languages

Juan Pedraz, Manager of ESL Languages Abroad says that the increase in bookings for German courses has doubled in 2012 compared to 2011, and follows a similar trend in 2013. "The influence of Germany on the countries of the European Union and the economic situation, make parents bet on German from very early ages for children and teenagers.

French still has strength, but has been relegated as a second language to a third position. "Pedraz also says that this increase has been noticed in the younger population:" while profiles of older clients will continue with English, young people that come with the language learned (because bilingualism is being strengthened in schools), they will tend to study other languages, such as German, French or Chinese ".

In fact, this influence can also be seen in schools. It is the case of Senara, Madrid center that offers its students the opportunity to learn languages such as Chinese Mandarin, German and even Japanese, which is offered in the Senara Language School for Adults. "Currently studying a language is key to increasing the chances of entering the labor market, knowing English is essential, but you also have to have a plus that differentiates you from the rest of the competition", they tell us from the Communication Department of the center. At first glance, this learning does not seem easy, "but the difficulties each one puts in. Grammatically, it is easier to learn German than to learn English, even if it seems otherwise", they say.

The fashion of studying Chinese in front of other languages

Studying Chinese can be seen more difficult and difficult because of the unknown and different language that results: different spellings, different intonations ... however, grammatically it has no complexity and its study can be very entertaining. This serves many students as motivation. As for the profile of the people who come to study these languages, most of them are university students, worried about the job they will have when they finish their university careers.

In the case of Chino, it is also attended by students with an interest in this culture and a vision of the future to make their way in this labor market. This concern for future employment leads many parents to consider targeting their children to Chinese or German, as you confirm Senara: "the number of Chinese students grows every year, seeing good results in official exams".
